Nurse Residency Program
The nurse residency program is an award-winning program designed for all new RN graduates employed at St. John. Participants receive guided clinical experience with an RN primary preceptor and clinical instructor.
Graduate nurses, or "residents," will attend selected field experiences in other departments and services of the hospital, exposing them to the care continuum related to their unit.
Each resident will receive a 14-week guided clinical experience with an RN primary preceptor, and engage in a 34-week nurse mentor relationship.
The nurse residency program is divided into four phases over the course of 52 weeks:
Initial Phase
Orientation Phase
Orientation Phase, Assigned Shift
Mentoring Phase
NCLEX review is provided free of charge.
